The round was co-led by the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Venture Fund and Solas BioVentures.
Aurenar's single-use device stimulates the vagus nerve through the ear. The company is investigating whether that stimulation can influence inflammatory responses without requiring implanted hardware.
The funding will support technical validation, regulatory work and preparation for pivotal clinical trials.
Why it matters
Implanted neuromodulation devices can be effective, but surgery adds cost, complexity and patient risk. A non-invasive approach could be easier to deploy in acute-care settings if it produces a consistent biological effect.
The central uncertainty is clinical evidence. Demonstrating nerve stimulation is not enough; Aurenar must show that it improves meaningful patient outcomes.
