Audi tests Agile Robots humanoids for parts sequencing

Audi is testing mobile humanoid robots from Agile Robots for automotive parts sequencing at its Ingolstadt facility.
What happened
The proof of concept brings together Audi, Agile Robots, Dassault Systèmes and NVIDIA. Mobile humanoids are being tested in Audi's Production Lab to pick components from containers and arrange them in the correct order for final assembly.
A virtual version of the logistics environment is also being used to evaluate feasibility, timing, ergonomics and safety before wider physical deployment. The project remains a proof of concept rather than a confirmed production-scale rollout.
Why it matters
Parts sequencing is difficult to automate because components vary in shape, rigidity, position and packaging. Mobile dual-arm robots could address tasks that are poorly suited to traditional fixed automation.
The bigger picture
Automotive factories are becoming an important testing ground for physical AI. Success in a controlled but commercially relevant workflow could create a path toward broader deployment across manufacturing and logistics.
