Atmospheric AI raises $10.1m for materials-supply-chain modelling

A supplier's price is easier to assess when a buyer understands the production system behind it.

What happened

Atmospheric AI raised a $10.1 million seed round led by DBL Partners. The company models raw-material supply chains to help manufacturers assess costs, carbon and sourcing risks.

The funding will support expansion into additional sectors. Its product combines engineering models and AI to help buyers examine the materials they purchase.

Why it matters

Procurement decisions affect costs, exposure to disruptions and the emissions associated with materials. Comparing alternatives can be difficult when buyers have limited visibility into production and supply routes.

The bigger picture

A model can help structure those decisions, but its output still depends on assumptions and data quality. Modelled carbon footprints should not be presented as independently verified emissions reductions. The commercial question is whether better information leads to decisions customers can use and trust.
