Arctic RAVN Secures €2.5M for Drone Electronics

Finnish startup Arctic RAVN obtains €2.5 million in convertible loan commitments to develop and scale European-sourced drone electronics.

Arctic RAVN Secures €2.5M for Drone Electronics

Europe's defence supply-chain efforts extend beyond complete drone systems to the electronics that make them function. Finland's Arctic RAVN is raising capital to manufacture those components closer to home.

What happened

Arctic RAVN secured €2.5 million in convertible loan commitments, exceeding its €2 million fundraising target. The company was founded in 2025 within Finnish Defence House and is developing drone electronic components engineered and assembled in Finland.

Its planned products include electronic speed controllers, flight controllers, motors and modular structures. The company says it sources components from Europe and NATO-allied countries.

Arctic RAVN has invested in manufacturing expansion and announced production targets, but it also acknowledges that its first product has not yet been formally launched. The new funding is structured as convertible loans, not a completed priced equity round.

Why it matters

European defence manufacturers want reliable access to critical electronics from trusted suppliers. Dependence on geographically concentrated component supply chains can create procurement, security and delivery risks.

A supplier with regional manufacturing capabilities could become strategically attractive, even without producing an entire drone. But component qualification, price competitiveness and consistent high-volume delivery are difficult industrial challenges.

The bigger picture

Defence technology investment is broadening to include manufacturing infrastructure and specialist suppliers. Arctic RAVN's commitments reflect interest in that opportunity, while the gap between early customer interest and sustained production remains the main execution risk.
