Aquiti Closes €60M Regional Venture Fund
French VC manager Aquiti completes the nearly €60 million final close of AVA1 to back early-stage startups in southwestern France.

Not every high-potential European startup is based in Paris, London or Berlin. Aquiti has closed a new fund to pursue opportunities in France's southwest.
What happened
French venture firm Aquiti announced the final close of its AVA1 fund at nearly €60 million. It will invest at pre-seed and seed stage, focusing on technology businesses in the Greater Southwest region of France.
Initial investments are expected to range from €100,000 to €3 million, with reserves available for follow-on rounds. The firm aims to build a portfolio of approximately 25 to 30 companies and support founders beyond capital alone through regional networks and investment experience.
The fund can back technology businesses across sectors, including deeptech and other innovative industries. The figure is a completed fund close, not a target yet to be raised.
Why it matters
Early-stage venture networks remain concentrated in a few European hubs. That can make access to capital, customers and experienced investors harder for companies founded elsewhere.
A locally embedded fund may gain an advantage by sourcing opportunities earlier and helping founders navigate the jump from regional operations to international scale. Geographic specialisation, however, can limit deal flow if the local ecosystem does not produce enough investable companies.
The bigger picture
European VC development is not only a story of larger late-stage funds. Smaller regional managers can broaden where startups form and grow. Their long-term effectiveness will depend on company outcomes and the availability of follow-on capital beyond their home regions.
