AP Ventures Closes $300M Industrial Tech Fund
London-based AP Ventures closes its third fund at $300 million to invest in early-stage energy and industrial decarbonisation technologies.

Capital continues to flow into industrial technologies that can help decarbonise difficult sectors, even as attention concentrates on AI. AP Ventures has completed a major fundraising milestone in that market.
What happened
London-based venture firm AP Ventures announced the final close of Fund III at $300 million, approximately €269.6 million. Commitments come from a mixture of institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign investors, corporate backers and family offices.
The fund focuses on early-stage industrial and energy technologies, with areas of interest including hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced materials, recycling and decarbonisation of heavy industry. Since its initial close in 2024, Fund III has already invested in 13 companies.
The $300 million is the final size of an investment fund, not a single-company equity round, and not capital newly deployed on the closing date.
Why it matters
Industrial decarbonisation startups face challenges that differ from those of conventional software companies. Moving from technical validation to commercial deployment can require equipment, long customer qualification cycles, manufacturing expertise and significant additional capital.
A specialised fund can support companies through the early stages of that journey while connecting them to industrial partners. Investors still need to assess technology risk alongside plant economics, adoption timelines and policy incentives.
The bigger picture
Climate-focused venture capital remains relevant beyond consumer sustainability products. AP Ventures' close highlights continuing interest in the technologies that underpin energy systems and industrial production, where commercial progress depends on real-world performance as much as laboratory breakthroughs.
