Ando Raises $20M for Agent-Native Messaging

Workplace messaging was designed for humans. Ando is betting that AI agents need to become first-class participants too.

What happened

Ando emerged from stealth with $20 million in pre-seed and seed funding.

The company is building a team messaging platform where AI agents have their own identities, inboxes and ability to participate in channels. The product is designed so agents can receive tasks, communicate status and collaborate alongside employees rather than sit behind a separate chatbot interface.

Investors include several major venture firms focused on enterprise software and AI.

Why it matters

As companies deploy more agents, coordination becomes a workflow problem.

A coding agent, finance agent or operations agent may need to receive instructions, ask clarifying questions and report completion just like a colleague. Existing messaging products can support bots, but they were not built around persistent AI teammates.

The bigger picture

Enterprise AI is shifting from individual assistants toward networks of agents embedded in everyday collaboration tools.

If agents become operational workers, companies will need new systems for identity, permissions, accountability and communication. Ando is targeting that organisational layer rather than the model layer alone.
