Its system is designed to produce results in under 90 seconds, giving farmers, producers and supply-chain operators faster information about potential contamination risks.

Food supply chains need faster testing because contamination, spoilage and quality problems can spread across farms, warehouses and distribution networks before lab results arrive. Field-based testing could make monitoring more responsive and less dependent on central facilities.
