Adaptive Raises $30M for Construction Accounting AI
Adaptive has raised a $30 million Series B for AI agents that automate finance workflows inside construction companies.

Adaptive has raised a $30 million Series B to expand AI-powered accounting and finance workflows for the construction industry.
What happened
The round was led by Tidemark, with existing investors including Emergence Capital and Andreessen Horowitz participating. Total capital raised has reached $57 million.
Adaptive builds AI agents for job costing, accounts payable, billing, work-in-progress accounting, payments and compliance. The company says more than 750 construction businesses use its platform across over 10 ERP systems.
Why it matters
Construction finance is unusually fragmented. Projects involve contractors, subcontractors, changing budgets, progress billing and complex job-level accounting that generic finance software often handles poorly.
Adaptive's approach shows how AI agents are being built around industry-specific workflows rather than simply added to horizontal accounting products.
The bigger picture
Vertical AI is increasingly about combining software automation with deep knowledge of one industry's operating rules. Construction is a strong test case because the market is large, operationally messy and still reliant on manual processes. Adaptive's funding suggests investors expect specialised financial agents to become an important part of vertical software stacks.
