Abu Dhabi has launched TAMM Global to commercialise the technology behind its government-services platform for other governments.
What happened
TAMM integrates more than 1,200 public and private services into a single application and is used by 4.7 million people in Abu Dhabi. TAMM Global will license and customise the platform internationally while allowing governments to retain sovereign control over citizen data. Several US cities have reportedly shown interest, with the first international deployment expected in the United States. The company has not disclosed contract values or named all prospective customers.
Why it matters
Government technology is usually fragmented across separate agencies and contractors. A shared operating layer can reduce duplicate systems, make services easier for citizens to navigate and give governments a common infrastructure for adding AI-powered assistance. Commercialising such a platform turns public-sector digital transformation into an exportable enterprise product.
The bigger picture
TAMM Global is testing whether an AI-native government platform can scale across jurisdictions with different laws, data rules and service structures. The challenge will be localisation, procurement and ensuring that efficiency does not come at the cost of privacy or accountability.
