1nhaler secures £2.2m to take its pop-up inhaler towards clinical testing

What happened
Scotland's 1nhaler has secured £2.2 million in follow-on funding, led by Archangels with support from Scottish Enterprise and BBB Investments.
The company is developing a predominantly cardboard, single-dose dry-powder inhaler that opens from a flat shape. Its lead product combines the device with salbutamol. Funding will support manufacturing transfer, production of clinical-trial material and a small clinical study, with a regulatory filing targeted for late 2027.
Why it matters
The financing is tied to a concrete development step: preparing the product for clinical testing. A new device needs evidence that it delivers medicine consistently, alongside a manufacturing process capable of reproducing that performance.
The bigger picture
Potential benefits around portability, cost and material use still need to be established in practice. This is progress towards a first regulatory submission, not an approval or confirmation that the product is ready for routine clinical use.
